I recently hosted a 50th birthday party for my husband at our home. From the moment that Chef Andrew and his assistant, Nicholas, arrived, they were the consummate professionals. This was the first fully catered event that I have hosted and I wasn't sure how much I could ask them to do. But as soon as they arrived they were "at my service" - whether it be lighting candles, arranging appetizers that Andrew was preparing, or whipping up some Chantilly cream to serve with dessert. As Andrew prepared the menu of passed hors d'oeuvres and small plates, he was happy to share his expertise and, among other things, demonstrated how to shuck oysters. The food, presentation and service by Garden of Eade more than met my expectations. Everybody who attended had nothing but good things to say about the party. It was a 5-star event and Andrew has more than earned my highest recommendation. And waking up to a clean kitchen in the morning was divine!

When I made the decision to have “The Garden of Eade” cater my father-in-laws 80th birthday party, I knew I was in good hands.  From discussions over the menu to determining the correct numbers for rentals and food, Andrew Eade was extremely helpful and competent making my job as hostess that much easier.  Little did we know what the weekend weather had in store.  One of the worst snow storms of the season (if not in history) started the evening before and ended the day after the party depositing more than 25cm on snow everywhere.  Cancellations came in and I saw my party dwindle down to half.  Andrew and his staff were already unpacking and readying the food for serving when I had a somewhat meltdown.  Although it was not part of his role, Andrew quickly calmed me down and promised that no matter how many showed up, the party would be a huge success, he then took my mind of my worries by providing me with samples of the sumptuous food I had chosen.  His staff was adaptable to all that had to be done and Mitch efficiently helped all the guests with their coats and boots as they arrived.  The food and service was wonderful.  We had an assortment of appetizers from “Grilled Cheese Bites” which was a hit with children and adults to the “Herb Crusted Lamb Chops” the best choice and a huge hit with the guests.  Needless to say there was way more than enough food for all and it just kept getting better and better.  I have already been asked by most of my guests for contact info to The Garden of Eade for their own future events. - Ileen Tobe, Thornhill

We had the distinct pleasure of working with Garden of Eade over the Christmas holidays 2007… They were able to pull together on short notice a gourmet menu for 30 that met both the dietary needs of our guests (vegetarian, gluten-free) while still maintaining the highest standards of gastronomic delight and service excellence. Chef Andrew's “just in time” preparation ensured that our guests received the freshest and tastiest experiences, in a homey setting.
